About us

Fastest growing program in the Baltics

FK Cēsis is a football club in Cēsis, Latvia — founded in 2023 so children, and then a whole community, would have a proper place to play.

Background

Who we are

The men’s team plays in the second league in Latvian football and the women’s team plays in the Latvian Women’s first division and made the quarterfinals of the 2026 Latvian Cup.

Founded in 2023, FK Cēsis has grown quickly from a local start into one of Latvia’s more ambitious clubs, with men’s and women’s senior teams.

The Cēsis 2030 plan targets promotion for both first teams, clearer youth-to-senior pathways, and international fixtures.

The town

Cēsis is the destination

Cēsis sits in the heart of the Baltics in Northern Europe and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful towns in Latvia. A well-preserved medieval old town, Cēsis Castle, the Gauja river, forests, hiking trails and nearby ski hills make it a rare place: a serious football environment inside a town that families want to live in.

Home matches are played at Cēsis City Stadium, Valmieras iela 6, Cēsis, LV-4101. The ground and stands can house over a thousand and can host the largest football events in Latvia. The stadium is next to the old town.

What we are building

A long-term plan to make FK Cēsis one of the leading football organisations in Latvia and the Baltics — and a club the town can be proud of.

  • One club

Tighter integration between the women’s and men’s programmes, so every player belongs to the same club.

  • Promotion

Take both first teams into Latvia’s top football leagues.

  • The Baltics

Make Cēsis the destination for football in the region, not only in Latvia.

  • International pathways

Open routes for players inside the FK Cēsis system to train, compete and grow abroad.

  • Community foundation

A fund that supports families, charities, arts and culture in the Cēsis region — plus scholarships for student-athletes.
