FK Cēsis has unveiled Cēsis 2030, a long-term project to develop the club into one of the leading football organisations in Latvia and the Baltic region, while deepening its connection with the town that built it.
The plan was presented after a visit by Four Castles Global co-owners Ben Tilney and Kevin Doyle, who set out a “think big, go big” brief for the next chapter.
The strategy asks for promotion of both first teams into Latvia’s top leagues, a unified club structure, and international pathways for players. Beyond the pitch, the club intends to establish a community fund for families, charities, arts and culture in the Cēsis district, and scholarships for student-athletes.
The men’s first team recently earned a place in the 2. līga. The women’s team competes in the Women’s 1. līga.
The women’s team will host the inaugural Four Castles International Invitational on 10 October 2026, receiving Wellington Recreation Football Club from Northern Ireland.
This initiative is about building a lasting legacy that integrates our programmes, elevates our teams to the highest levels, creates opportunities for our players on the international stage, and gives back to the community that supports us.
FK Cēsis has all the tools in place to take what they have accomplished to the next level. Their vision will not only create a centre of football excellence in Latvia but will raise the bar for all the Baltics.
