Cēsis hosted its first international women’s football tournament in October 2026, E-Druva reported. Four Castles Sporting Group organised the Four Castles International Invitational with FK Cēsis.
Two sides took part: Wellington Recreation FC Women, visitors from Larne in Northern Ireland, and FK Cēsis – AC Jules Verne, the local side representing the club and the Cēsis region.
The brief was international matches, cultural exchange, and a public stage for women’s football in the town. In the trophy match Wellington Rec won a tight game. FK Cēsis then won the international friendly.
