FK Cēsis began a new chapter with investment and ownership by Kevin Doyle, a Florida-based executive, Baltic Football News reported in an exclusive interview on 6 February 2025.
Doyle’s background is in U.S. government affairs — the U.S. Senate, the Florida Legislature and the White House — and he is an executive at HBW Resources. He lives in St. Augustine, Florida, which he has compared with Cēsis: two old towns, serious about their history. He played football from the age of six through high school and for Ancient City Soccer Club, and later sat on the board of his local league.
His route into European football ran through Steve Paris’s investment group and then Carrick Rangers FC in Northern Ireland. After looking at clubs in Europe and North America he chose FK Cēsis for the community around it and for the ambition of the people already there.
The short-term brief was promotion for the men’s side and a deeper place in the town. The longer brief was a club Cēsis could be proud of on and off the pitch — now carried as Four Castles Global’s majority ownership.
The team at FK Cēsis put together an amazing presentation on the vision and the goals that they wanted to see for the program. We had many meetings, and I continued to be intrigued by what I saw in Latvia between the growth of football in the country and the widespread community support that FK Cēsis had there in the region.
Short-term, we want to continue the success and support the winning culture that is already in place while continuing to identify ways to further integrate with the greater Cēsis community. We are determined for promotion of the men’s club to the next division.
The one thing that I have learned that we cannot control is winning and losing any given match or in any given season, so it is so important to build the right foundation for the long term — financial stability, communication, shared vision, support of the community — and ultimately about creating an asset that the region can be proud of for years to come.
